MIRRORS Announces Return For 2017 With Pinegrove, Los Campesinos! and More

After the success of the 2015 debut and sold out follow up in 2016 – DHP is proud to announce the first acts for MIRRORS 2017, with Pinegrove set to headline the multi-venue live music event, taking place across four Hackney locations on Saturday 28th October 2017.

Dedicated to supporting the finest in forward-thinking music, putting the focus on audience experience, MIRRORS 2017 will make a welcome return to striking East London church venue St John’s-at-Hackney. Popular Hackney destination Oslo will once again host a stage, with Moth Club and Paper Dress Vintage completing the event.

Pinegrove’s Cardinal came out in February 2016 and things have not stopped for the band since – the record appeared on countless end-of-year lists and enjoyed sold out tours around the world in 2017 – a testament to the band’s incendiary live performances. The band are currently working on a follow-up, due for release in early 2018. This will be their only UK performance for the rest of the year. Call it alt-country, call it post-americana, call it indie rock, call it what you want – Pinegrove are doing something honest and inspiring that is connecting people around the world.

Los Campesinos! write about smart people doing terribly irrational things – using a depressant like alcohol to beat depression, burning the skin off your hands before seeing a palmist, “taking props from ‘90s boy band fashions”, masturbating in an ex’s shower, investing your emotional well-being in a far-flung football team. Everyone involved should know better and yet they keep doing whatever it is to wrest something out of life. Which is to say that the English born, Cardiff formed band writes love songs; ones that take place in the logical blind spots where people find out what truly matters and how far they’re willing to go to make these things real. Passion is real, romance is boring. And Los Campesinos! write what they know on new album Sick Scenes: it owes its existence to LC! deciding whether or not to dedicate their energy to one of the most irrational past times someone in their 30s can pursue: being in a rock band.

Other acts to play on the day include Ultimate Painting, Josefin Öhrn & The Liberation, Pheobe Bridgers and many more. See the full line up so far below.
