Harleighblu to headline live performances at relaunch of Trinity Square

The relaunch of a popular destination in Nottingham’s city centre will be marked with live music, good food and a lot of fun. Trinity Square, based to the back of The Cornerhouse complex, has been redeveloped over the last few months. The relaunch event will take place on Saturday 2nd August from 2pm until 9pm.

DHP Family are delighted to be providing musical entertainment for the event which will include performances from rising star Harleighblu, Bitter Strings and a whole host of other local musicians.

A packed schedule of events featuring fashion, food and entertainment is being planned for this summer and autumn, to take advantage of the new space.

Trinity Square was redesigned into a multi-purpose space that can be used for a range of community events, following a design competition that was won by acclaimed architects Gustafson Porter –the team behind Nottingham’s Old Market Square redesign. The new design will complement both Old Market Square and Sneinton Square, with a similar style of granite paving and seating design. It is hoped that the revamped space will provide a flexible, high-quality space for performance, socialising and community events.

Councillor Nick McDonald, Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio holder for Jobs and Growth, said: “We’re really pleased to see Trinity Square completed and ready for use, with such a great line-up for the entertainment on the opening day. Redeveloping this space complements other work going all across the city, which is really helping us to build a better Nottingham.”

“The redeveloped Trinity Square will help encourage people to visit and spend more time in the Square, bringing in business and adding vibrancy to the area.”

The new Trinity Square will be playing host to regular events every Wednesday and Saturday. Events planned for the new space include; local band events that will give up-and-coming musicians from the area a platform to showcase their talents,  dance events, and Robin Hood plays featuring the legendary character and his Merry Men, every Sunday during August.

There will also be Street Fashion Shows, incorporating local businesses and colleges and highlighting current trends, a Voices event featuring traditional and gospel choirs, a Food and Drink Festival in September featuring local produce and live music, and ‘Vintage to a Tea’ events themed around the 40s, 50s and 60s with original products, clothing and collectibles on sale, Lindy Hop dancers, Mods on bikes and music from the eras, from swing to rock n roll, and 60s rock.
