Job Title: Venue Assistant Manager

Job Purpose

The Venue Assistant Manager role is crucial for running The Bodega effectively and profitably, and in line with safety regulations. As the Assistant Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of the venue staff and compliance procedures, as well as monitoring controllable costs on a nightly basis. You will also be supporting the General Manager of the venue through duty shift management and will be undertaking any other duties as reasonably requested. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on detail, can demonstrate exceptional organisation skills and loves working on their own as well as collaborating with their peers with the aim of delivering exceptional service to customers and venue staff alike.

 

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring the venue is safe for staff and customers with completion of venue checklists and monitoring during opening hours.
  • Assisting and supporting the Duty Manager in the day-to-day operation of the business including live events and club nights while training and then moving onto running these independently.
  • Ensuring outstanding levels of service to anyone attending the venue.
  • On shift coaching and support to develop the capability of your team.
  • Delivery of company KPI’s.
  • Taking an active role in the development of the venue.
  • Responsible for delegated DPS role for the venue when the General Manager (DPS not present) and ensure that the venue is operating according to Licensing laws and conditions of the venue license.
  • Briefing bar staff and security.
  • Dealing with bands and tour managers.
  • Managing all venue staff’s performance daily (including prep and end of night), including providing feedback to staff and relevant management where required and taking any disciplinary actions where necessary.
  • Dealing with bands and tour managers.
  • Overseeing the cashing up of tills.
  • Creating P&L’s and Settlements and distributing internally.
  • Alarming and securing venues.
  • As and when required you will undertake stock management and line cleans

Management

Venue Systems & Procedures

Security

  • Liaising with Security on bar, gigs and club nights.
  • Generating Security briefs to be presented to security staff on a nightly basis.
  • Liaising with security via radio communication.
  • A strong understanding of how to use CCTV systems whilst following GDPR protocols

Assistance to GM

  • Assist the General Manager in the venue operation.
  • Covering the work of other Assistant Managers during their absence (holidays, illness etc) as directed by the General Manager.

Finance

  • Comply with and ensure that company financial procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintenance of venue accounts sheets: P&L and Settlements.

Compliance

  • Responsible for production, completion and verification of venue compliance documentation (Bar Files, Manager housekeeping records, Accident/First Aid reports)
  • Updating and monitoring the company’s accident compliance system.
  • Ensuring both yourself and bar staff/bar supervisors are adhering to company policy and/or health and safety
