Deputy General Manager Job Purpose

Along with a competitive wage and benefits including performance related bonus, Management Development Training, 50% off drinks at all our venues along with guest list for our events you would work alongside the General manager and be responsible for the following:

To ensure the venue is operating at a safe and excellent level of service through management and support to venue staff whilst committing to compliance procedures. All this whilst operating at a profit through monitoring of controllable costs on a nightly basis.

To take charge and collaborate with the venue’s internal production department, ensuring every event is properly set up and the duty management team have what they need to succeed.

To provide support to the venue General Manager through duty shift management and any other duty as reasonably requested.

Payroll, Recruitment & Development
  • Devising rota’s for retail staff that fit the needs of the business whilst working to budgets and KPIs.
  • Responsible for inputting, checking, and updating staff Payroll information and wages
  • Co-ordinating staff holiday requests
  • Ensuring all staff files are fully completed and all required documentation has
  • been provided and correctly completed
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, appraisal, and development of venue staff
  • Responsible for producing and inputting data to security timesheets and liaising with security contract provider
  • Checking security invoices
Duty & Shift Management of the Venue
  • Responsible for ensuring the venue is safe for staff and customers and completion of venue checklists and monitoring during opening hours.
  • Responsible for delegated DPS role for the venue when the duty manager (DPS not present) and ensure that the venue is operating according to Licensing laws and conditions of the venue license.
  • Briefing bar staff and security
  • Managing all venue staff’s performance at events (including prep and end of night), including providing feedback to staff and relevant manager where required and taking any disciplinary actions where necessary.
  • Liaising with bands, artists, DJ’s, guests and resident DJs’, internal and external promoters, and tour personnel
  • Cashing up tills
  • Creating P&L’s and distributing internally
  • Alarming and securing both venues
Management

Venue Systems & Procedures around:

  • Security
  • Assistance to General Manager
  • Finance
  • Risk Management

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in bar/venue management

Please be advised that this post requires a mixture of daytime, evening (including late night) and weekend shifts.
