DHP Family Director Sean Akins will be joined by our Head of Festivals Ali McLean, Festivals Event Co-ordinator Lorna Greenwood and Artist Management Assistant Jade Passey for the 13 mile run in aid of Hackney Quest, a charity organisation providing support to families and young people in Hackney since 1988.
Our team of four will be running a single lap through the borough, starting at 9am in Hackney Marshes, on Sunday May 10. Sure to attract hundreds of supporters, participants will be getting a good view of what Hackney has to offer as they run alongside local landmarks including the Hackney Empire, Broadway Market, London Fields and Hackney Wick, as well as the grounds of the impressive Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Our Oslo venue, located next door to Hackney Central Station opened in January 2014, has quickly become a fixture in the Hackney scene and grown to become the live music venue of choice for both fans and artists alike, with folk favourites Mumford & Sons handpicking our club for an intimate showcase of new material last month.
As well as our flagship London venue, Hackney is also home to the our London base with a growing team now working from the London Fields office.
Ali McLean, said: “With a growing presence in London, this is a great opportunity for DHP to give something back to the community. We hope to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile charity as a way to say a small thank you for all the support we have received since we opened Oslo 18 months ago.
“Training is going really well, so hopefully I’ll be all geared up to run 21km by race day! All the money raised is going to help people in the local Hackney area so we really want people to dig deep and donate.”
