DHP Family Smash Fundraising Target in Hackney Half Marathon Run

Representing our Oslo venue our Director Sean Akins, Head of Festivals Ali McLean, Festival Event Co-ordinator Lorna Greenwood and Artist Management Assistant Jade Passey smashed their target of £1,000 and ran the 13 mile course in aid of Hackney Quest, which has been providing support to young people and families in Hackney since 1988.

Joined by 13,000 other runners, the team’s training paid off as they all completed the single lap route through the heart of Hackney, breaking a considerable sweat to cross the finish line and collect their medals.

Oslo was keen to give back to the community after the club opened in the heart of Hackney 18 months ago and became an essential part of the local scene. The team’s Just Giving page is still open to donations at https://www.justgiving.com/TeamDHPFamily.

Ali McLean, said: “We’re really happy with how the race went on the day and can’t believe how much we have been able to raise!
Hackney Quest does great work within the local area and we wanted to take the chance to raise some money for a worthwhile cause, as well as saying a small thank you for the community’s continued support of Oslo.”

Colette Allen, Director at Hackney Quest, added: “We’d like to thank Oslo and DHP Family for their fantastic fundraising efforts for Hackney Quest. The funds will make a massive difference to the young people and families that we support and will go a long way in providing positive activities and workshops for young people aged between 8 and 19 from disadvantaged backgrounds.”

Oslo, located next door to Hackney Central Station opened in January 2014, has quickly become a fixture in the Hackney scene. The club has grown to become the live music venue of choice for both fans and artists alike, with arena-size folk favourites Mumford & Sons handpicking the club for an intimate showcase of new material just last month.
