Jake Bugg & many more confirmed for Beat The Streets Festival 2020!

Beat The Streets Festival is proud to announce its second wave of artist additions for its 2020 instalment. Chart-topping Nottingham indie-rocker Jake Bugg, award-winning folk singer and activist Grace Petrie and riotous live karaoke band Bamalamasingsong are some of the artists who will join the line-up of the charity music event staged across Nottingham city centre on Sunday 26th January.

In addition to the second artist announcement, the festival will once again be hosting its fundraising tombola which will be located at the Rock City merchandise desk on the day of the event. Current prizes include donations from the likes of Splendour Festival, Dot To Dot Festival, Rock City, Broadway Cinema, HMV, Brewdog plus loads more, and all proceeds from tombola ticket sales will be donated to Framework.

The full list of new artist additions for Beat The Streets 2020 are: Alfie Sharp / Arch Femmesis / Bamalamasingsong / Benjamin Ziec and the Rarebreeds / Emzae / Falling Off Maps / Gadzz & Friends / Grace Lee / Grace Petrie / Jacob Fowler / Jake Bugg / JJ Lovegrove / John Paul / Jonny Olley / Katie Keddie / Kynch / Lacey / Left Hand Lane / LNC / Luxury Stranger / Mid November / Obi Rudo / Ryan Brooks / Seven Rivers / The Mocking Jays / Those Howlin’ Sounds.

After his recent Rock City show sold out in just a day, the opportunity to catch Jake Bugg on home turf at the festival is one to be relished. The Clifton singer-songwriter shot to fame with his self-titled debut album back in 2012, which landed him the coveted number one spot in the UK album charts. Since then, he has gone onto release three further efforts, ‘Shangri La’ (2013), ‘On My One’ (2016) and ‘Hearts That Strain’ (2017), with each release demonstrating his sonic versatility and undeniable talent to craft a stadium conquering chorus.

A Mojo top 10 album winner in 2017 and 2018, Grace Petrie’s unique takes on life, love and politics led to The Observer describing the folk artist as “…the urgent, pulsing, compassionate talent this world desperately needs”. In 2018, Grace launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund her first studio album ‘Queer As Folk’ and raised an incredible £18,000 in just two weeks, which demonstrates the impactful nature her music holds as well as her incredible grassroots support.

A true Nottingham live favourite, Bamalamasingsong have been bringing their unique communal singalong parties to the city with unequivocal success for the past few years. The live band has no singer and audience participation is very much encouraged, expect to be singing everything from Elvis Presley and Bonnie Tyler to Radiohead and Bon Jovi.
